Issues

The United States is over $34 trillion in debt and counting. Few in Washinton, D.C. know what it means to adhere to, or even make, a budget. The Congressional budgeting and spending process is broken, hijacked by reckless spending and borrowing. We are not taxed too little; we spend too much.

Wyoming is a unique place – it represents the best of what America stands for. Our values prioritize faith and family. Parents must be highly involved in the education of their children and education should be laser-focused on the priorities of reading, writing and arithmetic, leaving other social issues to be discussed by parents at the time they determine is appropriate. I am committed to fighting for Wyoming parents and their children.

Another essential component of our national security is energy security. America is blessed with abundant natural resources which can ensure that we have accessible and affordable energy. Legacy energy sources such as coal, oil, gas, and uranium can meet our demands, and Wyoming is blessed with an abundance of these energy resources.

Wyoming is home to over 40,000 veterans and advocating for policies which seek to bring relief and assistance to our veterans will always be my top priority. I am honored to represent them in Congress and fight for those who fought for our country. I am also working to ensure our military is used in ways that put America first – with Congress’ approval, as the Constitution dictates.

Wyoming’s farmers and ranchers feed the nation. Growing up as the fourth generation of Wyoming ranchers just outside of Ft. Laramie, I know the challenges the Wyoming agriculture community faces on a daily basis. These challenges, however, are unnecessarily complicated by bad Washington, D.C. policies, put in place by bureaucrats who lack real world experience.

Border security is national security, and the Biden Administration’s self-created border crisis is one of the greatest threats facing our country. Over 11 million illegal immigrants have entered our country since Biden took office and millions more known and unknown “gotaways” have entered the country. Among the ranks crossing our southwest borders are known terrorists, smugglers, and gang members.

For over 30 years as a private attorney and now as your representative, I have defended Wyoming against the administrative state. For too long, Washington, D.C. has delegated authority to unelected bureaucrats in a manner that jeopardizes our Constitution.

As an attorney, I fought to return control of natural resources to local entities, not far-away federal bureaucrats. I am honored to serve on the Natural Resources committee to continue this work from the halls of Congress. I also have the privilege of chairing the Subcommittee on Indian and Insular Affairs, working with tribal and territorial leaders on issues important to their communities.
