Hageman Calls Wyoming Student Accepted at Two Military Academies

April 9, 2026

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman loves to call Wyoming students to let them know that they have been accepted to such prestigious schools as West Point.

Recently, the congresswoman called Luke, a student from Sheridan, Wyoming, to congratulate him on being accepted to two different U.S. service academies.

Luke's Dual Acceptance was a surprise, but not a surprise when you consider what an outstanding young man he is.

He was first offered admission to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and subsequently received notification of his acceptance to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Congresswoman Hageman personally calls these students to deliver the news, often sharing the "contagious excitement" of these life-changing updates on her social media account. You can watch one of those calls at this link.

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (R-WY) has recently made phone calls to Wyoming students to inform them of their acceptance into U.S. Military Service Academies for the class of 2030, sharing videos of these calls in March and April 2026.

Hageman called Christian, a high school senior from Gillette, Wyoming, to congratulate him on his appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, praising his achievements and character.

She also made a call to a student named Ellis to congratulate them on their acceptance to the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Hageman, who nominates students for these academies, has described this as one of the most rewarding parts of her job, emphasizing the importance of supporting young leaders who are willing to serve the country.
