Rep. Hageman supports Wyoming retirees
Earlier this year Congressional Members in the House of Representatives re-introduced H.R. 82 (The Social Security Fairness Act of 2023). This bill would repeal the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP), which unfairly reduces Social Security benefits for millions of Americans.
WEP reduces earned Social Security benefits for Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) employees who also receive a public pension from another not covered by Social Security.
As a Wyoming letter carrier working here in Gillette, I would like to personally thank Rep. Harriet Hageman for co-sponsoring and supporting this legislation that, if passed, would overturn unfair legislation that is aimed at taking away income from Wyoming retirees.
Th U.S. Senate has just introduced its Social Security Fairness Act of 2023. I would like to ask everyone to encourage Senators Barasso and Lummis to join Representative Hageman and become co-sponsors of this legislation. Again, I would like to thank Rep. Hageman and Senators Barasso and Lummis for their ongoing support of Wyoming retired workers.
