Adding reasonable flexibility to the Endangered Species Act will protect species and fuel economies
It is admirable and important that we make every effort to protect endangered and threatened species across our nation. Yet we also must acknowledge that situations, environments, and specific needs differ, and flexibility is needed to implement the right approaches in the right places, for the right times.
Rep. Stauber's ESA Flexibility Act will amend the Endangered Species Act to extend the flexibility offered to threatened species exemptions to endangered species, allowing tailored adjustments to protective regulations without unnecessarily hindering economic development, recreational activity, and energy production when the science shows they don't pose a threat to the endangered species.
