Harnessing the power of Wyoming's water for local communities

October 4, 2023

Water is the most valuable resource that exists for western states, yet a lack of viable infrastructure has prevented the American West from fully harnessing its benefits for decades. From watering crops to producing energy that in turn funds our communities, we must seek ways to use the water we have to achieve long term prosperity. By transferring ownership and operation of the Pilot Butte hydropower plant from the Bureau of Reclamation to the Midvale Irrigation District will provide a valuable resource to Wyoming's communities who can best harness its potential, relieve administrative burdens, and better use our precious natural resources.
