If you're paid by the American people, you should work for the American people
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has one of the most absurd telework arrangements in our federal government. It allows federal employees to work from home, even if they live minutes away from their assigned office building. Government bureaucracy already moves all to slowly; we should make every effort to ensure decisions are made and actions taken as efficiently as possible for the American public.
My amendment will require employees living within 50 miles of their assigned office to work in-person, just like every other normal job in America. It's time to get our federal workforce out of the coffee shop and back into the government building that taxpayers are funding.
