Rep. Hageman moves to block the Bureau of Land Management's disastrous Rock Springs RMP.
If the BLM gets their way, over 2.5 million acres of Wyoming land will be placed off limits for rights-of-way, and prevent 1.8 million acre from being used for energy production, ranching, and recreation.
BLM is supposed to mange federal lands in order to provide immediate benefits to our economy and citizens while also preserving our resources for decades to come. Their proposed course of action for the Rock Springs field office stands in direct opposition to their constitutionally-assigned purpose, and their draft management plan has been met by staunch opposition from thousands of Wyomingites.
I submitted an amendment to the Department of the Interior's appropriations bill that will block this dangerous resource management plan from being implemented, protecting Wyoming's economy from undue and needless harm. It appears that my colleagues agree with me, as the amendment was adopted without opposition.
