Tribal communities deserve the same Second Amendment rights as the rest of America

January 18, 2024

For too long, tribal identification documents have been valid forms of ID for airports, purchasing alcohol, and even to vote. Yet these IDs do not allow their holders to legally purchase firearms. H.R. 1709, the Tribal Firearms Access Act, will reconcile this, allowing members of federally-recognized tribes to use their tribal IDs for purchasing firearms under the Second Amendment. I'm proud to announce that this bill passed out of the Judiciary Committee with unanimous support.
