Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) wants to raise your electric bill by double digits (16.5% in total) … yet again.
This is not the first rate increase that RMP has proposed, and it will not be the last.
This yearly increase will instead become the “new normal” unless we fight back against the radical environmental agenda that seeks to force us into “15-minute cities,” to take our gas-powered vehicles, and to destroy our reliable and affordable energy resources and producers.
In Wyoming, we have always relied on access to America’s public lands for our way of life and our livelihood. It is essential for energy and mineral development, ranching and agriculture, hunting and fishing, hiking and climbing, and so much more.
Unelected, unaccountable Washington bureaucrats are now jeopardizing Wyoming’s access to that land. They want to hijack Wyoming’s decision-making surrounding public land management and transfer it to climate zealots.

There are all kinds of phrases and jargon that are particular to Congress and legislative procedure, so much so that sometimes it sounds like the folks on Capitol Hill are speaking a different language. When members of Congress talk in “legislative speak,” normal people tend to tune them out because, unlike D.C. careerists, they are not obsessed with the minutiae of the process.
Who thinks it would be a good idea to give China, Russia or Iran the authority to block energy, food and mineral production on United States land? No one in their right mind, that’s for sure, but naturally the Biden administration tried. Fortunately, they failed, but this is a cautionary tale of why we must constantly remain vigilant and make sure the Biden administration isn’t abusing its authority in their war on domestic energy production.
2023 has been an exciting, rewarding, exhausting, interesting, and at times, frustrating year. Those who have followed the House of Representatives understand just how unique the 118th Congress has been. And on this Thanksgiving, I am reminded that we live in the finest country the world has ever known, even if its governance is not always pretty, and I have a long list of things for which I am thankful.
There’s no doubt the road has been rough these last few months in Congress.

When conservatives warned normal people that the rabid left was coming for our hamburgers, Democrats and the media mocked the idea, even though there was good reason for the alarm.
I have often said that there is a special place in hell for those who pursue policies that are intended to increase the price of food, energy, and housing. Yet, we currently have people in positions of power who are pushing energy poverty as official policy, and as the cost of energy increases, the cost of everything else quickly follows.
The lengths to which Joe Biden will go to control our lives knows no bounds. We have been burdened with ‘rules and guidance’ in education, energy production, gun ownership, and even in our choice of home appliances – and now this administration’s costly and unconstitutional overreach is affecting our food production and private property rights.
