The Environmental Protection Agency and Transportation Security Administration's response to the Ohio train derailment shows the agencies are failing to do their job and not focusing on the things they were created for, Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., told Newsmax.

Last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a determination that would deny State Implementation Plans (SIP) submitted by Wyoming and 18 other states, to implement its new Interstate Transport Rule, which is a regulation to ensure “upwind” states are not contributing to smog in “downwind” states. Despite the EPA’s obligation under the Clean Air Act (CAA) to recognize state implementation plans (SIPs), the EPA has chosen to ignore Wyoming’s plan in favor of far more restrictive policies.

This morning, Congresswoman Harriet Hageman will host the third of three town halls this week. The Sublette town hall will be the sixth since being sworn-in to Congress last month.

Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., told Newsmax Friday that one of the issues she's considering, as a member of the House weaponization subcommittee, is "the extent to which the government is working with third parties or acting through surrogates to suppress the First Amendment rights" of American citizens.

Late last week, I was given the opportunity to really see America’s Air Force display their air power in real life. Colonel Barrington sent many local leaders from the Cheyenne area, northern Colorado, and the panhandle of Nebraska to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. There, we watched the launch of a Minute Man III missile. Last week’s observation was pretty exciting, although it was not my first trip. However, in the past, the launches were either delayed due to the weather or other world events.

Due to inclement weather in the area, tonight’s scheduled town hall meeting with Harriet Hageman will be postponed. We look forward to announcing a new date and time very soon.

Harriet Hageman (all R-Wyo.) and 30 of their colleagues reintroduced the Protecting Our Wealth of Energy Resources (POWER) Act to prohibit the president or his secretaries of the Interior, Agriculture or Energy from blocking energy or mineral leasing and permitting on federal lands and waters without congressional approval.
