Anyone attempting a large-scale project in Wyoming knows just how frustrating – and time-consuming – the NEPA review process is. Much-needed building and mining activities can be held up for years, languishing in a queue of pending projects with no guidance as to when their case will be resolved or what is needed to move forward. The Biden Administration continues to pass new rules in order to lengthen these wait times, with the intent of discouraging new projects on federal lands due to the dilatory and expensive process that never seems to end.

If the BLM gets their way, over 2.5 million acres of Wyoming land will be placed off limits for rights-of-way, and prevent 1.8 million acre from being used for energy production, ranching, and recreation.

The BLM was created for a simple purpose: to steward America's land and resources for present and future generations. Yet in recent years, their priority has shifted to preventing Americans from enjoying or using these lands at all. They seek to lock up land for "conservation purposes" without ever stating what the lands are supposed to be conserved for: the reality is, they are simply trying to force a radical energy shift in our nation by blocking us from harnessing the wonderful, abundant resources our nation possesses.

Yet the latest iteration of this program radically departs from this goal; instead, it seeks to electrify these vehicles and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Earlier this year, Democrats voiced their opinion that gas stoves posed an existential threat to our planet; as such, they attempted to limit the free choice of Americans and disrupt the free market by restricting and even banning your ability to choose what stove fits your needs best.

If implemented, the Department of Energy's "Industrial Decarbonization Roadmap" will perpetuate the Biden Administration's war on American industry and affordable energy. Much like they've targeted household appliances and reliable, affordable gas-powered cars, this roadmap will directly attack key components of our manufacturing and supply chain industries.

Water is, and has always been, the key to the West. As communities grow and cyclical precipitation patterns ebb and flow, we should focus on developing more water storage that are managed at the local and state level. Local officials understand the needs of agriculture, industrial, and commercial stakeholders better than anyone in Washington, D.C., and I'm proud to continually working to transfer Bureau of Reclamation projects to local communities while reducing government control over our water resources.
