Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman sent a letter to the federal transportation department Thursday, urging the removal of a regulation that keeps non-English-speaking commercial truck drivers on the roads.

Hageman’s letter to U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy points to a Feb. 19 executive order by President Donald Trump, in which he asked all federal agencies to review their policies for misalignment with the administration’s priorities.

Washington, DC – “Voters gave us a mandate to act on the America First Agenda, and reconciliation is key to delivering on the promises that we made. Before deciding to vote in favor of this budget, I met with President Trump to discuss Wyoming’s priorities in relation to the budget process, and we are in agreement on the best path to implement lasting change.

Op-Eds

Wyoming is on the front lines of wildlife management. We enjoy a rich diversity of some of America’s most iconic species, yet we also directly witness how federal bureaucracy ties our hands and prevents local leaders from managing the wildlife in and around our communities. Look no further than the overgrown Greater Yellowstone Grizzly population. These apex predators – currently protected under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) – attack hunters and hikers, damage property, and destroy livestock.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (R-WY) today announced her office is changing the way town hall meetings with constituents are conducted, at least in the short-term, based on recent incidents at public events, credible threats to Hageman, and the related national outbursts of politically motivated violence and attempts at intimidation. Until now, Hageman has held town hall meetings in person in public venues, but that will shift to tele-town halls or virtual settings until it is safer for all Wyomingites.
